Not so recent, but I still have fond memories of constructing a lifting device for my engine for the motor mount adventure. Features padded and shaped fender supports. Now available for loan to other adventurers.

Polisher, pads, polishing products, sealant and glaze.
I love the Adam's products.

I bought a set of bearing pullers to replace the rear wheel bearing that I damaged while trying to insert the hub using makeshift tools
After trial fit I concluded that the largest cage into which the bearing is oulled, wasn't big enough. So I had to make a cage myself. Oh this is such an easy job using the proper tools!!!!

In your pictures you show a socket on a threaded rod for pulling the rear wheel bearing back into the rear carrier. Consider using an adapter of some kind that puts the pressure directly on the outside race rather than the inside race for this operation. Pulling on the inside race the way your picture shows passes all the installation pressure through the bearing *****, almost always damaging the ***** and the races.

Air and cord reels from auction for $30.<br/>I refinished air reel. It was used for grease and was yellow.

Yup,
That is a Harbor Freight utility trailing hanging from the ceiling. best 340.00 I ever spent.
Sorry to get carried away, I found this thread and got sucked in.
Dangerous territory here.

I spoil me
Check out these glorious gear wrenches I got at Aldi for $9.99. Sizes 8mm, 10mm, 13mm, 14mm and 17mm. 14mm? Whatever. They look like crap but the thinness may come in handy.

I bought a set of these years ago just so I could cut the open end off the 8mm wrench
I now have a shorter ratcheting ring-spanner just for use on the bracket for the AC drier on my S4's (shorter gives more clearance to the front - so I can turn it further each time)
The rest of them get used from time to time - Aldi stuff is generally a step up from the usual auto-store's cheap china-made tools.
Aldi 1/2" torque wrenches are actually pretty good.

It suddenly occurred to me last week that I had nearly the complete collection of Ridgid cordless tools. Nearly. All I needed was a 1/2" impact wrench. Fixed. It's wonderful.

Not really a tool, but got a new batch of quality wire connectors.

It's getting harder to walk by the nice tool cabinets, as I pick up more odds and ends. The valve spring compressor is not for the 928, thank goodness. I'd have gotten a mirror, but I have an endoscope on order. Didn't find stubby wrenches, but didn't really need them; I hope the effort has the desired effect, which is to continue not to need them.

Valve spring compressor extension for the valve spring compressor above. Tony did similar with 1" ID PVC. I found that was a bit loose, so I sourced a 3/4" coupler.
