That's an interesting one. I'm looking for an 85 or 86 euro. Prefer an 86.

This car was for sale all summer at Oshawa VW, must be owned by a dealer employee.

I'm tempted to go have a look.

I will probably get into contact with him. Let me know if you go see it and decide to pass.

Go for it, it is well over an hour away from me and its a busy time of year, so I may not have time to go.

Don't forget the 30% currency exchange discount the US folks get for CA cars. I just grabbed one myself.

I inquired about it January. Figured it's worth it for spare interior and engine. VIN was run by someone in the VIN check thread. Think it has LSD. Here is some of the response I got.
"The Porsche was imported to Canada from Germany the vin for the vehicle European, # WP0ZZZ92ZFS841250, The vehicle has only had two owners other than the dealership, the vehicle is being sold AS IS considering the price and age, The car does run, there are no problems with the engine or transmissions from what we can tell. I do recommend coming in and test driving the vehicle first hand before you make any decisions."

My '83 was already a 4 speed, weren't the US models too?

The Euro 4 speed automatic models have different gearing and higher stall speed than US/CAN.

true 83 euros still used the 3 speed even though the USA 1983 was fitted with a 4 speed....some confusion arises as the imports sometimes got given the wrong model year. Made in November 1983 must be a 1983....when in fact it was a 1984 spec car....

I was looking at this when it was for sale last winter too. It's almost cheap enough to justify buying it for an engine swap into my '84 US. But then you'd have to add all of the money for a TB/WP job, intake refresh, fuel lines and so on. But in the end I'd have another spare transmission and an entire parts car! But on the other hand I only have a single car garage and my wife would kill me if I came home with another 928, so there's that to consider as well. Dammit.

So it looks like the car sold. Did anyone here buy it? I was 5 minutes away from where the car was and I called the seller saying I wanted to take a look at it but he said that someone was already on their way to pick it up.
