yes, i had the used side tanks from GB, and had the radiator shop put them in.. however, could it have only been the guts of the one side tank ? (i.e. the oil cooler tank inserts. they had a leak and water was going into the oil that direction. i remember pulling the oil plug and clear water came out until it was all gone and then oil came out.
anyway, i wonder if the side tank was from the other side, and installed upside down as you say.... so, should i remove it? doesnt seem to bother anything so far and its been a few years that theory makes sense though.. the other side was probably fine and has the flow director.... the oil cooler side is incorrectly set up. maybe it keeps the flow in the radiator longer to get better cooling..
