Hi !
Your car looks amazing !
Do you refer to the "coloring" inside the P O R S C H E lettering?

Thanks !

Bruno,
If you get them, post up how they hold up.
If you could take close pics, that would be great.
I was thinking of them in black.

Default rear lettering

I like the subtlety of the unpainted letters on the rear of your car - the black on black looks awesome! You have to look to see the word Porsche - it doesn't jump out as cheap advertising, but once you see it, you can't unsee it. If I ever repaint my car, I would paint those letters body color justl ike in your photo. Your car looks fabulous.

Yes, you're exactly on point.
I thought about them, then discounted them, then thought about them, now discounting them for exactly what you state. As I think of myself as a purist, they will remain simply as recessed subtle lettering.

Hi,

I agree that in cars with darker colors the letters in silver does look a little like an advertising!
I like the look in mine, I'm even considering removing that rear badge the PO thought was a good idea....

Agree with the above posters. I wish my black 84 didn't have the silver inlay. Old red, 78, doesn't have silver inlay and looks much cleaner, in my opinion.

I ordered from this site:http://www.bigporsche.com/default.tp...ECTIONSword=ww I ordered red letters for my black '86. High quality and they have lasted for a couple of years so far. I'll try to post a pic later.

Whups, posted to other thread but....
On my dark blue, I'm leaning toward leaving the plain paint once the decal finishes delaminating.
I *might* get the dark factory decal set for a mockup to see, but think I'll likely end up prefering plain paint.

I did have the piano black jaeger script on my Gold 83 Euro....in part because I didn't do a good job in my attempt to replace the decals on that one...they held up well (about 4 years, no sign of degradation) and looked good imho.

Roger has the decals too, I think. When I eventually get mine repainted, I was definitely planning on replacing them (silver car, so decals are dark grey) but all these pics of them body color are making me rethink. Anyone have a silver or light-colored car with no decals?

Pull em out, then. Just needs a hair dryer and all of your fingernails.

I put mine on in 2002. It's still looking good.

Before:

After:

It's all about personal taste. I've added a few more decals in the last 13 years...
