Default 78 gas tank leak

my 78 developed a gas tank leak. It is leaking from the bottom of the tank. it appears to be leaking from the threaded bushing that the strainer filter screws into has anyone dealt with this. Is this common is there a fix ,the cost of a new tank is frightening!

My tank had been repaired once, but it didn't last long. It was also on the bottom. I ended up finding a used tank by searching the internet and finding one at Lon's in Southern Colorado. If you want I'll search my Im's and see if I still have his number. IM me if you do. Murf

You need to lower the cradle and see what's leaking. It could be the gasket on the outlet (lucky), the fitting into the plastic or a hole in the tank.
