I'd offer up the Zombie but the last two times Anderson drove _that_, things didn't go so well either.

That's quite an insult. Carefully edited! Yeah right - that's why I showed a complete, unedited lap (and more) at Road America in my last video. I included my jammed gears and missed shifts too. The editing was... none.
So you are as wrong there as you were when you said "Carl places his car into classes with no other cars". Do your research, will ya Jim? NASA uses a power-to-weight system in the GTS rules to class cars together. I have no say about what class they place my car, nor whether or not anybody else shows up.
But you ARE right about one thing: I am race testing and proofing our parts. I am not selling myself as the best driver - no way! I am on the track for fun, and to test our parts. I'm usually in the center of the results at the end and that's fine with me.
Our set-up on this car is not cook-book and simple like an all-stock 928 would be. Wait till I get my alignment and suspension dialed in, I am sure I will enjoy those corners more. Consider: to install the 6-speed, the complete rear cross-member was swapped out with our three-piece unit (and he knows this). That, and I'm learning to race the car with a 6-speed! Maybe Jim the Wizard can just look at a car and know how to set it up, but out here in the real world where I live, it takes track time. We're getting faster.
SORRY TO ALL - I had no intention of entering this thread and I was enjoying it just as-is. Jim should have left me out of it. This thread is not about me, and I wouldn't be commenting if he wouldn't have taken ANOTHER cheap, inaccurate, errant shot at me that I felt I needed to rebuke rather than just leave it lay unanswered. Frankly, I have no idea why I was even mentioned in this thread.
if you go back and really look at Carl's carefully edited videos.....you will realize that his lap times and cars pulling him in the corners make his participation in any "shoot out" a bad joke at best.

It's a LOOOONG drive from Michigan. Not sure I can get that much time off from work or the family. But with proper planning... who knows. I could ship the car and then fly-in to drive it.
Not so sure. Jim can make that very brown car do things it shouldn't be able to do. But I will admit the Coke car would not be competitive in this challenge.
Who said anything about Anderson (or anyone else) driving the Coke car again? It's mine... all mine! Hell, I just got the Accusump working finally, and the AFR's are now in good shape. I want to drive it!
Only if it's $5k Nigerian dollars. That's like $25 US. But I think Kibort has to pay... I run Amsoil.

Come on Carl lighten up and enter into the spirit of the competition - what an awesome opportunity to show off the 900HP monster - win or lose who cares.
If I was in the same driving ability league of the four potential participants I would be there like "a rat up a drain pipe". As I am not I will still be there to enjoy the GTG and would not miss it for the World.
How about I buy the first round of beers after the race.

Get this thing planned right and it could be a great GTG.

The 900 HP car will be at Mid-Ohio this weekend for the season finale.
I publish our track schedule on my website. Anyone can come whenever.

Always recommend you call or email me first to make sure we haven't dropped a race from the schedule for whatever reason.

Marks's and Greg, please come up with a date for this event. There are many of us willing to make the trek to see this. Could be great fun.

absolutely! You pick that day and we can go at it . I still thiink our day would be best spent at the High Plains Drifter track as originally planned. But you know me... Im all in for a shoot out!
Bill, you know there is nothing magical about willow or andresons driving to the car's limit. it will survive and YES, absolutely, we will all have a good time, even if it blows up! (which it wont)
why not??
Ha ha
yeah, but all these failures are with suspect engines. not to many bone stock rebuilds that have had any issues.
yes, im researching the dates... again, i think a NASA weekend is best. no one needs to even update a license, but i will so i can take the car in the races the following day. Greg and i were a little testy on the lists so maybe he is a little bitter about the intermediate plate discussion.. so when he cools down and realizes we were saying the same thing, for the most part, I'm sure we can pick a date! Again, i think we all would have a good time out there. I do think we need to find another car for Mark that is near the performance level, so both of us can race the next day in ST2 NASA. How cool would that be! Any 320rwhp to 375rwhp car will do.
Yep, I know and like all potential parties in this little tizzy. Maybe I should have some bias as I helped finish the assembly and installation of Mark K's motor, and I'd certainly like to see the motor survive. Maybe there's a way everyone can win and shake hands when it's over. I know, that's unAmerican.
why not??
