Chassis distortion c/- a one-off hard impact (or repeated impacts) under the nose or bottoming of front suspension.
Hatch lock re-positioning within existing mounting holes will only get you so far.
Either the hatch lock tongue cracks, or if not, it drags so hard against the front of the receiver that it cannot be pushed up.
Elongate the mounting holes to allow either the upper or lower to be moved towards the rear of front of the car.
