Intake & Cam Cover Refresh - Thanks to Ben Genovese and Roger Tyson
Just finished an intake & cam cover refresh with Ben Genovese's outstanding powder-coated work on the intake, cam covers, water bridge, thermostat housing, metal oil filler neck, and engine cross brace. Ben does an excellent job preparing and finishing the pieces. They are spectacular! We're extremely lucky to have Ben's expertise available to us, and he's very easy to do business with as well.
Installed new vacuum lines, knock sensors, TPS, CPS, Hall Sensor, chain tensioner pads, flappy actuator, thermostat, new fan shroud, Greg's baffle for the oil filler neck, new gaskets and cam end seals, and new pan gasket, all provided by Roger. I really like his Excel spreadsheet approach for the intake refresh parts.
A big thank you to both of them for the excellent service and parts!

Looks amazing, David! Dare I say - better than factory.
Ben does incredible work - I need to have him do mine over the winter.

Thanks guys! Car runs great, better than ever.
Wish I could take credit for the wrenching. We're fortunate to have a local Porsche (only) shop with a long-time P-car owner who actually knows 928's. He has been in business since the early eighties and has owned a few himself over the years. No problem using parts from Roger either.
I'm helping to keep him in business

Absolutely stunning David.
Those manifolds can become a Thing of Beauty, so much so that you can't seem to take enough pics because from every angle it's: "ohh yes - look at that. Click. Gee it looks good from here too - click. And a close up - click ... and from directly above - click ... and ... and oooh yes ... click click click and ...click click click click click click ... a bit closer ....clickety click clickety click click click click clickety clickety click click click clickety clickety click click click clickety click click click click clickety click click click click ... " Dang - have I filled that 2Gig card already? LOL

David, that engine compartment looks absolutely stunning! Not just the refreshed intake items, but the whole works. What an amazing detail job man! Stellar.
I have some bad? news I guess regarding future coating jobs. I'm taking a break from PC work and haven't taken on new work since the beginning of this year. I still have several outstanding protects I'm slowly completing from last years commitments. Family has become my #1 priority lately. My kiddos are getting to the age where I just can't spend enough time with them. PC work, as a second job, has taken the back seat to other more family oriented projects. So, for the time being I'm out of the PC business.
David, I do still have your spare intake that will be refinished this fall. Haven't forgotten about it.
I truly love working for you guys and have met some fantastic folks on this small business journey. But I"m no longer able to give the business the attention it deserves. I believe my wife has pulled the plug on our website hosting, so legendgarage is no longer up. I do aim to post up some completed work in the Pic forum for future references to anyone wishing to get some PC ideas.
Again, David, outstanding job on that engine bay. So amazing to see these things look so good again.
best,
Ben

Looks awesome! How many miles on your 928?
I see that you still have your VIN stickers on each fender, do you still have the third one on the rear center of your hood? Don't see that too often.

Again, thanks for the comments guys. Really appreciate it. Mostly just wanted to acknowledge what great work Ben does and also thank Roger for his help.
UpFixenDerPorsche, your post really, really, really made me laugh! Because that's exactly what happened when I decided to take just a "few" photos. Clickety, clickety, click, click, click until there were 155 photos of just the engine bay. Owning a 928 is an addiction for sure.
Adam, the car has 110K miles on it, plus another 2K miles I put on while the odometer gear was broken. As you noted, the VIN stickers are still on the fenders and the one on the right rear center of the underside of the hood is still there as well. I've always considered the car as a fairly clean example with original paint and just tried to work my way through all the normal things that need attention over time.
Last year, it received the full Constantine treatment with new Super Bearings, new Drive Shaft, Super Clamp, powder-coated Torque Tube, and new Torque Converter seals.

Super nice David - the metal oil filler makes a difference as well.
