where is the sunroof crank stowed
I know it's a dumb question, but where is the emergency sunroof crank stored in the car?
I am new at this. I have only owned my 86.5 for 15 years so I thought I should know this kind of stuff.
Have fun

Typically on top of the last mechanics tool box right next to the fuse chart beside the wheel lock socket .......

"According" to the owners manual (at least according to my 84's manual)...it should be in the tool kit, mounted in the rear of the car.
But, as previously mentioned..."most-likely" it's in the original owners junk drawer, or his mechanic's tool box, or is now for sale on Ebay for $300.00.
Brian.

Does it actually fit in the tool box at the rear? I didn't think it would, so when I got mine I just stashed in the glove box.

Mine came in the car in the glovebox, sealed in a little plastic bag. I transplanted it, still sealed in the bag, to to the tool area where it sits under/behind the jack now, held in by the foam block that cradles the jack and bag.
There's no room on my mechanic's toolbox for stuff like this. A few times a year I edit the collection of accumulo-detritus there, mostly so I can close the lid of the box. I general, I don't use tools from the toolkit for anything, in the interest of keeping them all pristine. The only exception is the tow eye, which has been used once to drag the car back up my own driveway. There's no choice but to use a metal clevis on the tow-eye loop, so it's not quite a virgin anymore.
