Default 86.5 S ( How many)?

Now being the new owner of an 86.5 S it would be interesting to know
when they went to the 5 liter motor and how many 5 speeds did they import to the US. There appears to me a lot of mention of S2's and S4's but very little for S3's which I understand this car is.

434 U.S./Canada 86.5 5-speeds. All but 6 had sunroofs, 222 had LSD.

Thanks Rob, I had no idea the number with LSD was that low.

Limited slip was a $595 option in '86, for whatever that's worth. Not sure how much of a deterrent that would have been given the $50,000 base price.

The cheap bastard who bought mine didn't bother with an LSD. He clearly was not thinking of the car's future owner's wishes...

The only options on mine are LSD, sunroof and higher capacity AC
Rub strip delete .
The PO installed a rear sway bar from Devek. What is the advantage?
Thanks for the info

Rear sway bar will keep back end of car from leaning as much. Of course, without a commensurate change up front, and depending on the width of the tires you are running, things can get all kinds of Caddywhumpas. Rub strip delete is a good one.
928 Owners club page has a lot of production numbers via the 928 Registry, IIRC.

Rub strips and sunroofs. I can see it now as a country western song

As I am aware Devek never made a rear sway bar- they offered front ones but they are only needed if you have substantially more rubber up front and need to control the subsequently induced tendency to oversteer.

A stock 928 understeers by design and fitting a stiffer rear end reduces the amount of understeer and can change the balance to oversteer. This is what the Louie Ott adjustable rear links do. Maybe that is what is fitted?

I am waiting to get the car and see all the Devek bits that have been added to it. I know it has Koni coil overs along with the added bar. The challenge now is getting a trucking company to haul it from Canada to the west coast. This has become more complicated than first thought
