Replacement Window Switches
My driver side window switch has failed - it doesn't make contact for the down movement.
Do OEM replacements have the window open/closed icon on the buttons?
Thanks.

There is no OEM alternative for the later cars 90 to 95.
Porsche all the way baby - my price is $73.08.

There's a nice write up on how to fix that...involves trimming down the point of contact to remove the indention. I'll look for it later if you can't find it.
**EDIT** - here's the article I was thinking of.

I would also suggest to have a look at the bottom of the switch as the contacts will heat up enough to be pushed out of the bottom of the housing thus moving the contact out of reach
The cure is to use a solder gun and heat the contact and push it back into place and let cool then put some deoxit into the contacts this should restore full function,
There are a few here that make new stickers for the switches ,
So a simple sticker will make the switches readable.

I purchase a set off eBay for about $65 each, complete with icons as per original. They are much better than the original switches because they use little micro-switches rather than mechanical contacts. The wiring colors are different so you have to go through a process to connect them correctly, but once done you will be satisfied.

I believe the new switches are also a bit thinner, at least than the originals from my 79, which was very helpful in my case. I don't have a rear wiper or rear hatch release since my car is a convertible so there was just a blank there to fill the holes, with just a slight trimming to the openings in the panel, they actually fit marine switches quite well that have a similar look. I moved my window switches to the inside positions since they're not as deep and put the marine switeches in the out positions where the center tunnel curves away and gives them enough clearance.

I purchased a replacement switch from Rog. I didn't bother with trying to repair the original switch.
The task took about 30 minutes due to the awkward location of the harness plug back against the fire wall under the center console.
