6-speed assembled to the new rear cross-member, axles, and the 928 suspension. Ready to install. We will put it up and in tomorrow morning Pete. Still on schedule for you to drive it home Thursday night.

Your speedometer was converted to GPS signal today too.

Looks great Carl. I also had him add their 928MS adjustable drop link mounts (gold anodized looking pieces in the photo) which have been designed to also provide for a rear tie-down location. Very nice.

I really like those aluminum pedals. Where did you buy?

I was able to get in touch with Gene Winfield and get him some pics of my car and the VIN #. It does not look like my car was one of the convertibles he did as his had a "metal tonneau cover over the rear of the car". In the one pic I was able to find online, it looks like his trunk area had an indentation running down the center almost like helmet humps on the roof of a Daytona coupe where the outsides were higher than the center.

It's all set, Pete, drives great. You are really going to enjoy your trip home to South Carolina!

Fits very well with the Borla exhaust, no issues.

Thank you for your repeat business. Much appreciated!

PS: I like your 6-speed short-shifter better than my own, so I just went and ordered one like yours...

Default Back Home -Car is AWESOME !

Well, I'm happy to report that the return trip went great. Car and transmisison performed flawlessly. The transmission completely changes the car - no pause between gears on upshifts, quick donwshifts without double-clutching, and much better gear ratios for compatibility with the increased power from the supercharged engine. I used to be able to skp every other gear - 1st to 3rd to 5th. Now it's like having a transmission with twice as many useable gears and the right one for every situation. Also, running 80-85 MPH in 6th gear has the car loafing along at only 2,000 RPM which has to improve the mileage, although I didn't analyze that yet.

Carl did a fantastic job on a tight timeline and had all the prep work completed before the car arrived. Essentially turned it around in 3 days - amazing !

I had a chance to clean up the car over the weekend and took some much better photos which I uploaded to the Shutterfly Share site - here are a few with the rest visible via the link - https://1979porsche928spyder.shutterfly.com/pictures

I like the look. IMO the best feature it the way the tops or the rear fenders taper down towards the rear and outside. Usually it is flat up there. This looks much better and I have never seen it before.
