Rick, were the wheels on your car, or did you bring a separate set?

I need a windshield, and got some curb rash on my wheels, so a refinishing is in order.

Thanks

Hey Joe, wheel was on the car. I just jacked it up in the 928 Intl. parking lot and removed the wheel and handed entire wheel and tire to the tech refinishing the wheels. They repair it onsite in their mobile van and did a great job. VERY hard to tell the wheel was refinished at all.

They did one of my rear wheels last time. I've managed to scuff up the right front this time, so hoping that can get refinished.

The option ive found that is willing, does it on the car.

Now..I expect that its not adding METAL to the wheel, but something thats 'tough'..but again, these places are not welding down new metal.

Interesting... I would think it's much more difficult to do it on the car, but I've never seen it done, so maybe not...

IIRC, when they did my rear wheel, they did not use any metal. I think it was some sort of composite/bondo to fill the digs on the rim. After paint and clear coat, you could not tell, and it's held up very well.

Hey Mark, is there a Hotel set up yet, maybe one of Joe's, for those of us who might come from far away?

Ok, I'll schedule him in. Seems for sure, we could hit 10-15 wheels total.

Cool, I would invest in some repair in the kid's car that we'll be bringing for sure.

That's good new s Rick. I'll be driving my 928, so I figured They would have to break down the wheel, by removing the tire. Also figured Mark had a tire machine at his place too. I guess all I'll have to do is remove the wheels.

Vendor is clear, no need to remove wheel.

They will do cosmetic work, NOT straightening. That is off-site, overnight work.
