Fascinating effort ... I really enjoyed seeing how you thought through and then executed each step.

Proof that talented people here can imagine and create amazing things!

Love the theme of this thread since I also plan on modifying the interior of my 928... but I'm going to take a different approach.

I'm going to modify the existing door panels and dash to accept Audi tt a/c vents and custom speaker pods. To me the a/c factory vents are a piece of shi....and outdated. Porsche vents came to be decent from 1987 on and the C2s and later 944s. They were so small before that they were a joke. From the changes of the 911sc to the '87-89 carreras things started to look better.

I'm going to fabricate a pod that will go over the existing swooping dash center console - your right about the challenge from how low the 928 dash is - and carry the Audi tt round vents. Sorta similar to the Aston Martin dash design.

On the door it will take some planning to incorporate the round Audi vents and still remain in the position where the dash feeds the air to the doors.

I'll be posting my progress be in a few days.

Thanks for sharing your "thinking out of the box" ideas!

Tom

So I think the time has come to make a decision about the future of this car. I can't stand to see it just sitting around collecting dust in the corner of my warehouse. Looks like I am going to get this car back to stock and back on the road again...

Awesome project. Nice to see others making something with their hands too as opposed just buying it from a catalog. Well done!

You could sell all of your 928's and make a healthy down payment on a new 718 Boxster S.

Eh. I like my 928s too much to sell them all. I just have too many at the moment to properly enjoy and work on them all...
