Default What was that noise?

I was driving home when all of a sudden I heard a "bang" from the right rear of my 87 automatic. Now it looks to sit about 1" lower on the right rear. I will put it in the air tomorrow for a look. An ideas til then?
Thanks
John

No mooses, moosi, or whatever the plural form is...

I cannot see anything cracked, broken or loose (other than a cut wire...abs?)
Maybe the experts here have a more experienced eye.
Both shock adjusters are set at the same height and the top mounts under the trunk carpet look fine.

a picture of the car sitting on its wheels may also provide more info
Could the leaf spring have sheared off the control arm?

Not sure what you are referring to.

I parked the car on a more level surface and it seems to be sitting even on both sides. I took it for a drive and noticed nothing unusual. I will go out and grab a couple more pics.

An optical illusion with the rear control arm partially obscured by the "in the shadow" view of the outer CV boot

Do you have an LSD and did it happen while you were moving slowly and turing by any chance?
