Default On the road or under the wrench ? A poll . . . .

Hi!

In the past 6 months, what percentage of the time has your 928 been off the road for repair/refresh/upgrade/maintenance?

This would not include tasks that took place while the 928 was still in running/driving condition (speaker upgrade, minor trim work, etc etc)

I'll be interested in your experiences. Thanks for reading. Dan

I went with 75/25, but until recently, the 75% running wasn't really running right. However, it's still in the "bringing it up to snuff" phase, which I expect to not be a short phase. In other words, I don't feel it's reflective of what a properly-maintained car would do, in general. I very intentionally bought a project.

Can I change my vote? I voted before I read the first post. Had I known the poll was only for the last 6 months I would have voted 0/100 instead of 25/75:/

Need to vote for each that I have direct response for each

50:50 ... this one I will fight with forever I believe.
75:25 ... will be 100 once the top end is done
100:0 ... daily driver

Well, I live in Wisconsin, so it was parked for the winter until mid-March.

Until the first week in March, it was up on jackstands while I sorted out the clutch issues.

I considered "roadworthy even if the roads weren't 'Porsche-worthy'" as "on the road" time.

But I would have been a lot more motivated to get the clutch done if I had been able to get it out on the road.

100% on jackstands but it's 98% finished now. Only problem it will be 4 months until I come home to finish her.

I voted 75% as there was no 90% since I still have a leaking steering rack.

More like 99% roadworthy. The past 2 years have mostly been working with a Multi-meter.

I'd rather be wrenching.

Just got back from Key Largo last weekend. Another successful gas and go trip. Other than having the windows tinted a couple weeks ago - nothing to do or to fix on this all original car. A/C running ice cold too. Been this way since I picked her up and drove her 2200 miles home last Oct/Nov. Honestly, I wasn't expecting this.

Now that I have written this post, I have surely jinxed myself and something is going to break.

Your car is probably melting into your driveway as you speak, after that post.

95% on, 5% off. Have driven it about 1,500 miles in the last six months.

Wow I haven't even driven a third of that in that timeframe. I am a bad owner
