Terminal 50 is sourced by the ignition switch - it is the starter signal that engages the start relay on a GTS (and most years). The yellow wire in the 14 pin connector. It exists other places depending on what you are looking to do...

He did use the wiring harness out of a low mileage 1979 and just got a new wire foil for the pod (see attached)

Masse = Ground
Plus = Positive
looks like "+Separat to me" - presumably a different + supply?
Bremse = Brake (warning maybe?) - what was the other one that is unreadable next to it?

Hilton thanks, I think you may be right I got the pod back out and will check it tomorrow.
Looking at current flow diagram page 97-17 (Part VIII - USA) that should flow to Plug "G" terminal #1 on the CE panel and share ground with the other gauges via 2L
I'll report back with more info tomorrow.
