Jeez, everyone is a hard ***. Yes I know I am going get crap from people thinking I want way too much for this car.

Well if that is what you think, then please ignore this post. But I challenge anyone to build a similar 928, regardless of year for anywhere near the price.

The first 20K takes the car. But I do have a few people in Houston who are interested in it at that price. Nothing concrete yet, but I wanted to give a true Porsche guy the opportunity.

Will I get 20K? That remains to be seen. If I put it on eBay the reserve will not be 20K and I will make that decision when the time comes.

This is no project car, it is a reliable daily driver if that is what you want or a cool play car for the weekend that doesn't require any work or costs more than a Hyundai.

But I will set it on fire before I give it away. I don't need the money that bad and I am in no hurry to sell.

Thanks for everyone's input.

BTW, I have a catalog of high resolution pictures I came across that are available to view.

Wow, you must be a psychologist.

What an innate grasp of the human thought process.

I will keep it before selling the car to some bottom feeder for nothing. I don't need the money that bad.

I am holding up 3 fingers, can you read between those lines?

As someone that is interested, you have not given me or others much information to justify your price. What does etc, etc. mean? Pics would be nice. You are giving off the attitude that if you want it, give me the 20K and have a nice day. Many people can tell you they are interested, but that don't pay the bills. There are a handful of 928's for sale here in the Denver area and they are just sitting. One guy has been advertising a nice one for over a year with no takers. I understand that with all the hard work you have put into the car it's difficult to let go at any price. But, if you really want to sell, you have to change your mind set and move on. If not, then enjoy the car and all your hard work.

For those truly interested, the car will be on Craig's List and eBay soon.

With many, many pictures and a detailed description of all work done.

If you would like me to send you a spec sheet and pictures, please PM me a personal email.

I would be happy to discuss the car with anyone, but I wasn't really trying to sell it through Rennlist. Just wanted to let anyone interested that the car would be available.

Thanks.

I see no reason why a well sorted 928 5 speed shouldn't be worth $20k plus, especially with proper paint. Try buying one and getting it there for less, not to mention the time. GLWS

that's pretty disingenuous; there is no other point to this thread other than to advertise the car for sale, and to see what you could get for it. Or to insult us all, which you seem to be doing that in equal parts as well.

Give the guy a break, seems like he has his guard up in anticipation of the upcoming lowball offers and the comments from the peanut gallery regarding what his car is worth. It takes a special skill to sale, everyone is not qualified to do it.

Just remember and never forget that when you point at someone, three fingers are pointing back at you.

Jetdriver - I'm sure you know our rules require you to post a price. Since you say you will post a reserve price on ebay, please post that price here.

Thanks

I have the car on Houston Craig's List. I will add fresh pictures when I list on eBay. The weather in Houston is still too bad for a serious polish and clean up.

It is listed for $18,500 OBO on Craig's List with all work listed since 2011.

I cannot see why all y'all are giving this guy a hard time. He did eventually post a price. I admit whenever I see something for sale, including houses, without an asking price, I ignore it. When I sell something I ask a reasonable price and usually fare well in the process.

Kind of defeats the purpose of posting the reserve price before an eBay auction.

But saying that, the reserve price is very fair considering the work done.

Thanks for those interested.

List a price here that's higher than the eb reserve and it's a no lose.

Just be prepared to take the flames for that high price!

Good luck with your sale. Looks like a very nice car and worth a premium.
