Yep when I pulled up to the stopping point in the grass field about 10 seconds later a huge plume of smoke came up from under my car and filled the inside with smoke,
as soon as I saw that I knew that my cats were hot enough to cause a fire as we had just run up the hill at a very fast pace.
I had a similar event in the morning but since the grass was wet there wasnt a whole lot of smoke and it quickly went away,

The dried grass in the afternoon was different story.
My thought was if there was going to be a fire it would be best to get some air moving under the car ASAP, thats why I gassed it out of the field,
sorry to have jumped onto the course, but I didnt want to see a burning Porsche.

I'm glad you were still with the car and able to act so quickly...that had the potential for real disaster. I have already mentioned the grass issue to the organizers. I took "mowed grass" to mean lawn. We got mowed hay that turned in to tinder when the sun came out.

I hope everyone had a great time at this year's event. We had a really nice turnout and I'm glad that so many familiar faces made it back for another year!
I want to thank Bob Voskian for his help with both the early organizing and throughout event day. It was great to have another person helping to keep things organized and rolling along, especially when we were it two separate locations. Thank you Bob!!!

And a big thanks to Dave Chamberlain for corralling his Boston area group this year, he really brought out the troops!
Carl, thanks for adopting my 89GT. Hopefully it planted another 928 seed in your mind :>)

I also need to thank Leo, my Dad, for manning the grill again this year as he has for all of the previous 7 events . He is as much a part of the event as I am!

And thank you to everyone who took the time to come out and join us, it was a great day!
