Wow, a great time again at Tass's place. The hillclimb was fun to see and hear, and to see all my great 928 friends again. Had to run out of there, I would normally stay late.
Tass let me take his GT, it is a very familiar thing to drive a 928! I had a great time.

As always, Dave and Flo produced a top-notch event. This year was the best yet. Going to and from the Hill Climb event twice, our old 928s got a lot of thumbs ups, waves etc. Having the road closed so that we could 'make a little noise' with the local constabulary watching was novel. I'm pretty sure Dave's track car would have taken FToD if he'd been timed

It was great to match some faces to rennlist handles (Mrmerlin and 77Tony) and to catch up with the usual suspects that don't post here.

Oh... and one more thing:

I've decided that Gretch is really a very good (perhaps even Turning-test-passing) software simulation. I mean, the only proof that he exists is in the form of stored bits on IB's disk farm.

Thanks to Dave and Flo for their great hospitality. Great time, great people and the weather was beautiful.

When we all started up the hill to our parking spot to view the Hill Climb, Dave took off up the hill in his track car and you could hear it probably all over the town!

Once again many thanks to Dave and Flo!

Default 928 Event and Hill climb - one of the cars racing up the Hill

One of the contestants heading up the hill... the event was really pretty good. There were an old Stutz, a Bugatti, Rolls Royce, MGs, midget racers, etc. The hill used to be used as a test ground for cars made locally back in the early 1900's. Springfield, MA was once a pretty large car manufacturing area back in the early 1900's.

As Dave C. said, no Gretch sightings. But we did have John Ransdell from Illinois, Tony from Texas and others from NY and that area that made the trip.

I was asked if I would host the party before (or after maybe) for the Porschefest weekend later this year at Larz Anderson in Brookline MA. That would be great, we have a better house and yard now than before. I will post something up with an official hotel also closer to the event.

Default video of 928 line up heading up the hill

The organizers of the Hill Climb asked us to line up and parade thru downtown Wilbraham and then head up half way up the hill where we could all park and watch the days event. The sound you hear is Tass' track car as he takes off with the rest of us following suit!

thanks again to Dave and Flo for being great hosts.

It was also great seeing Ransdell's 90 GT and Voskian's 91 GT. both are guards red on black and about 35k miles each. It is like seeing a new 928, they are as perfect as any Willhoite offering. Tass's 89 GT also is top notch, and has seats that you would die for. Another cool car is Adam's old guards red on black 87 5 speed. Only 50k miles, porsche script sport seat inserts and door cards (!!!!!!!!!!!) make it pretty much one of a kind. Also a super low vin # means it has the folding wing, early S4 intake and piston oil squirter block. Neat to say the least.
Nice to hear, see and sit in some great 928s.

Had a great time! Thanks again Dave!!! Had a blast chatting with everyone. Tony, if I am ever in Texas I am going to have to go out for a ride in your 928! Hope you enjoyed the 996.

Here are some of the shots I got yesterday.

Also of course it was great to see Dave C and wife Jane. I owe Dave a debt of gratitude for the rest of my life for what he did for my 928s. I also got smarter from knowing him and seeing how he does 928s.
Dave Tass and wife Flo deserve a medal for what they do to make their event great.
Tony with his awesome 86.5 5 speed in garnet red on burgundy interior with sport seats is a beauty to me.
Knowing Dave C meant that I always had a fantastic 928. Spoiled I was...
Dave C brought his 91 GT in amazon green that has a twin screw setup and front seats fit for a million dollar exotic (done by Paul Champagne).

Had a good turn-out. Some very interesting non-928s too. I was too busy having fun to snap a lot of pictures. This was taken late in the day after a hand-full of had already left.

A Great Time and a big thanks to Tass and Flo who graciously fired up the BBQ, open up their home and the most amazing barn/workshop to us 928 fanatics.
The Hillclimb was especially fun to watch.

Dave and his wife are great hosts ,
and the whole place was top of the line.

There were beautiful 928s in attendance as well

The Hill climb was also very cool,
as we saw more than a few old time machines pounding out the power in the race to the top.

I got to take a ride in a modern 911 Tony has a terrific 911 50 Year anniversary model with a 7 speed tip ,
and it is one of the fastest cars I have ridden in, the machine is amazing and I recommend that every one takes a ride,
and make it include the launch control demonstration
Thanks again Dave and Florence
I'm really glad you able to make it Stan. Your car was quite a hit! I must have had a dozen people ask me about that color. And you were quite a hit with my aviation neighbors

I didn't get a chance to tell you but I had a bit of a moment when we were in the hill climb field and I heard on the event radio "hold all cars on the course" ..."there is a Porsche on the course". I felt like one of my charges must have "escaped" and then I turned to see you zipping up the top half of the hill. As it turns out you were running from a potential cat/grass fire

Tony, we were amazed that you made the long drive and really happy to have you here. As much as I appreciate the 928, I have to admit I was blown away by your new 911

I guess I have no excuse for not attending some long distance events now...even have my hat ready. I'll be making it my mission to get out there.

Thanks
