Being the PCA Maverick Region Concours Chair, this was my event. We had 38 cars in the show representing eight different categories and 100+ for dinner. The quality and variety of cars was excellent. The air cooled Best In Show was a red 1959 356 convertible D. It is a very rare car in that the Model D was only built in 1959 and Porsche only produced 1,300. Patman's 928 was the water cooled Best In Show. Splitting Best In Show was a new idea and the crowd seemed to like it. Good for me because these two cars far and away earned more votes than any other! Congrats Patman!

This is, I think, the 356 in question. Another red/beige beauty! No idea why it rotated, but it's a great car at any angle….T

That's it! That's the 356 that Mrs. Patman insists that I "run out and buy" for her! That's Mr. and Mrs. Hamill's car. Super nice, looks like it was built yesterday. I can find a flaw in any car. Any. But I gotta say I probably spent the most time looking at that one and I thought it was trailered in. A real beauty...if ya like that kinda thing.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. I wanna end on a high note, so I'll probably not be attending any more shows!

Awww, come on! A few 'best in show' awards will add to the provenance of your car as the 928 moves up in the market. Plus the rising market tide floats all boats. Don't give up now!

My next PCA concours is Sunday, June 7, the 10th annual Autos In The Park. It's a show within a show, hosted by my friend, Jack Griffin. There will be close to 9 car clubs in the show. The Cooper Aerobics Center makes for a beautiful venue. If you're interested, Google Autos In The Park for more details.
