Meh, all that stuff is trivial to fix, and IIRC all the original bits were included with Chuck's car when sold. I'm certainly guilty of having made mods to my GTS but any original bit that comes off the car goes in a storage box so it could go back to stock with the original bits if I ever wanted to. I'm hacking up the center console right now but the original is intact and safe up in the rafters....
Anyone with a 928 they think is going to appreciate should be gathering up all the pieces necessary to put it back 100% to stock. Books, tools, mats, stereo, speakers, wheels, emissions equipment, etc. Stick it all in a box for a rainy day.

However, I don't disagree with who modifies the car to suite personal taste, but, as you say, when those modifications are not definitive, and can be re-done!

125 k euro:to ask is not to obtain.
125 k euro are far , too far from down to earth prices.
http://www.janzen-klassik.de/galerie...oupe-55800-km/
http://www.janzen-klassik.de/galerie...larsilber-met/
those 2 cars were sold to private collectors for (if memory serves me right) for less than 125 k euros (about 50ies the first and a bit more the polarsilber), I think they can be considered a really good examples, if not perfect.I cannot see why you can get that amount of money from a single GTS, these days.

Certainly not double, but it's the single biggest variable in the overall driving experience, so it should have a major effect on the value of the car. People can argue this back and forth all they want but ultimately the market tells the story.

I'd say that the variable that most significantly justifies the price on this one is the condition. You may find other '95 5-speeds in "great shape" but this one is beyond that. It should be as close to perfect as possible.
If anything has a more significant effect on GTS values than the transmission, it would be the condition. GTS's in poor to mediocre condition don't sell for half as much (or sell as quickly) as one's in great condition.

Completely agreed- Condition, miles, transmission, color, perhaps in that order.
