Default In tank fuel injector cleaners

I posted this on an Audi A8 web site, and am posting it here as 'information' regarding injectors. This engine is direct injection, and there seem to be some issues with these that our engines do not have. However - in case someone is deciding WHAT in tank injector cleaner to use, I thought my experience on this car might be helpful. (As info, the Ross-Tech system gives access to the Audi computers so all 'maladies' and modfication options are available on a laptop equipped with that software)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Check Engine Light on our '07 A8 with 78K miles came on in January. The car was due for a state inspection shortly, and it will not pass PA inxpex with the CEL light on. My Ross-Tech scan indicated 'low fuel on bank 2 at idle'. Took it to a dealer, and their scan showed a bad sensor on that bank. Replaced it, shut off light and I came home. 25 miles later (day before I was going to get inspex), the CEL returned.

Back to the dealer. Another scan showed a leak in intake manifold gasket (didn't show up on my Ross-Tech). I had that replaced, light turned off, and brought car home. Got it inspected next day. ONE DAY LATER, light comes back on! Took it back to dealer, they couldn't find any electrical or mechanical issue. SO, they think it is a partially plugged injector. Put in two cans of their injector cleaner (unfortunately, I didn't ask what they use), turned light off and I came home and got the inspex done the next morning!!

Light stayed off through the remainder of that tank of gas, and shortly after I filled again, the light came back on. I put in enough Techron additive for 40 gallons of gas (~20 gallon in tank), and drove the car. CEL stayed on through that full tank, and next tank where another can of 20 gallon treatment of Techron was added. By the time that tank was nearly empty, I 'remembered' that the German product for injector cleaning was LiquiMoly JECTRON. So, I ordered quite a few cans of that from Amazon. When it arrived, tank was filled and two cans of the JECTRON were put in the gasoline.

About 250 miles later, (some local driving, one round trip of 140 miles on highways) the CEL disappears. It has now been off for several days and about 150 miles of driving The gas with JECTRON is still in the tank, and on the next fill, I will add one more can - just to be sure the injector(s) are fully cleaned. I will also add one can of JECTRON every 4-6 months in the future!!!

I obviously can't say for certain whether the JECTRON was the responsible agent for cleaning the injectors, or whether 2 more cans of Techron would have cleaned them. Since I ordered 15 cans of the JECTRON (in order to get free shipping and make it VERY cost effective at <$6 per can) from Amazon, THAT is what I'll be using in the Audi, MB SL55, and Porsche 928 GTS over the next few years!

I post this so it might be a help for anyone in the future who suspects, or is certain of injector pluggage.

It's the stuff Roger sells and many others stand by. It works pretty well and is cost effective too. Liquimoly products are great, especially for the cost of them compared to others.
