My rotors are on backward. Or - upside down, or reversi

I found the squeal from the HP+ Hawks came from not using lube between the pistons and the back of the pad. I've always ignored those little packs of grease that come with pads in the past, I found out you can't do that with the Hawks, the stuff really is important. If you threw them out already you might look into ATE Plastilube, it worked for me.

Zimmerman rotors used to be much cheaper than OEM rotors- suggest you take a look at the rotor to see if the vanes are impeller like [spiral] or whether they run straight radially. If they are straight [a poorer/cheaper design] then they would be the same both sides. Just took a look at my rear rotors and they appear to be radial slots but then they could also be Zimmerman given I had some on my late S4 and not sure whether I retained the GTS rears or fitted the rotors that came off the S4 when we put my current 928 together. Appreciate if someone can confirm the configuration of the stock rear rotors.
Not sure squeal is the symptom I would be looking for- that is usually a sign of brakes "doing their work". I run with Hawk Street Plus or whatever they are called and they squeal something awful under light braking [not under heavy braking].

You all do realize that with the every day use that 98% of us see on our cars, you could put all of the disks on the wrong way and there would be zero difference on how are cars perform on a daily basis right?

I was coming out of S Co down about a 4500' descent and was moving at a pretty tasty clip. Had to warm up the brakes for some twisties, and then came a nice little straight stretch. Followed by a sharp 25MPH turn. I got the brakes hot enough to feel a bit of fade, guessing that the thin air didn't help either. If I had known one was on backward, I wouldn't have pressed it so much. Now, I got the right one, and it's all good.

All four? I didn't know anyone made slots for the rear? Or are they the same as the front?

No, not the same as the front- they are different- need to accomodate the parking brake, for example.
I found a few places online and of course ebay offering slotted rears, but wasn't comfortable with the background info that I was able to find.
After weighing cryo and deciding that was truly ridiculous overkill for my street car, I located some Powerslot brand rotors, not premium in my book but they have suited my relatively light use patterns in the past. I believe they are NLA unless you locate NOS, due to the company being superceded.
I also found enough info from other performance cars on Qcquence, to be comfortable with that option. Despite that they offer aslotted/drilled combination which is pure cheese IMO. I have past experience with both, no metallurgy but the castings seem fine, the fit has been good and they have proven straight and resilient. The slots are straight/linear, not curved as might be optimal but then they are at fairly modest price point as well. Drivers ed suitable? No idea...expect they're fine for auto-x and for fun.
