Hi guys. My good friend as you know bought the Sternrubin/Rubystone (rotviolet) 928 GT - As you read about in earlier threads.
Does anyone know where the Rotviolet 964 RS from the motorshow is?

It's one of those love it or hate it types I imagine.

Was that a factory option colour?

I saw that one for sale too. I really like the color, and should have bid on the car.

I love the rare colors. Though nice, I don't enjoy the "old bloody penguin" colors (black, white, red, silver) as much as the paint to order colors and blues, greens and other hues.

Actually the car was bought by my friend - I told him that if he did not buy it I would.

The car is amazing. If I recall correctly it is a ´91 model in Sternrubin/Rotviolet - think it is called Rubystone (82N) in English - It is a non sunroof car with sport seats.

The story is that the first owner in Germany had this and a 964 RS in the same color. It would be fun to see those cars together at a photoshoot

There were several 928 made with this color. At least one was in Japan and had GTS rear end. Though it was probably most common in 964 RS.

Sternrubin was the color of the 964 RS as it release in Paris in 1990. I was there.

Do you know the name of the first owner, and\or the VIN of his 964 RS?

The car is getting serviced with new brakes and timing belts as we speak.

I will get him to post better pics when he gets it back next week.

First owner was Guido Paar - haidresser to to bold and beautiful and has a couple of houndred parlors in EU.
