That's usable weight reduction.

Don't forget the 40 lbs (in the worst place)
the sunroof delete saved.

Nope, IIRC it was black and underwent a thorough de-sunroofing, de-rubstripping, de-headlight washering, de-rear wipering, and repaint.

and don't forget the rear bumperettes and side markers have also been deleted. This GTS has been taken apart, smoothed and painted. I could list all the new parts and tasteful mild mods if anyone out there wants them posted up. T

Ahh, okay, thanks. Not easy to do a color change on these cars. The color to sample cars are extremely rare so I wondered if this was one of them as Minerva Blue was not a standard color offering in 1994.

Only passing mention of McLaren F1 (new at the time also).

Notice something missing? And guess what, no surprise to this audience, the GTS and 928s generally are still not on "the" supercar lists.

Of course those here understand that the 928 was arguably the most potent, luxurious, finely made car of the era.

For that reason, GTSs still trade at relatively low prices. Even at the premium GTS pricing of today, they are priced and poised for significant appreciation, imvho.

That the 928 will someday be "discovered" is a foregone conclusion in my mind. And for those who love the model and don't mind having significant potential upside, I can't think of a better place to park a few bucks.

After all, who wants to buy after it is discovered? Like Dino 246's 10 years ago, those who buy them today can't really say "I always knew they were great cars and others are just figuring it out."

There is very little financial or insider currency once the ship sails. But there is risk once the values go up appreciably. I might be concerned if I was in for a Dino at $400k...

GTS at under $60k, and this and the other very nice example from seasoned enthusiasts, safe money for sure.

GLWS, my advice is don't compromise because they are worth every penny! What an extraordinary color, Tony. Love it!

I have no doubt they did not include the GTS in this because it was well known that it was being eliminated from the Porsche lineup. I find it a bit ironic that the leading car Jaguar XJ220 was a million dollar car in the day and the turbo 3.6 was a $100,000 car. Two weeks ago a Jag XJ 220 sold for $220,000 and a 3.6 Turbo sold for $330,000 at Amelia Island Gooding Auction. So that says a lot to where the market is heading.

The GTS is an unappreciated car still which I find confusing. Rarity and performance should bring these cars up to at least MSRP for decent examples but I have not seen a significant increase since i purchased mine in 05 and although the market will increase I don't think the speculators will ever see the value. Although if you consider the value of an early turbo carrera from the 70's there is no reason they should be seeing $200,000 they were a frightful car to drive, not very fast and dangerous. BTW good luck finding a Dino for $400K. I have seen a number trade for near double that recently and most all the F cars are up huge.

Tony.

I have to say I am shocked you are selling after customizing the car to the level you did I would have expected you would be buried in it. GLWS it is a gorgeous example and a fantastic color. I hope you find the perfect buyer the car deserves a good home.

Seems just like yesterday when I get this oddball calling me asking if I'd be willing to take delivery of a pristine 1994 GTS, and that oddball started to talk about doing all these mods, crazy changes and other bits and pieces. I had dread in my heart as he was talking about doing these things thinking that he was just plain nuts. Few years down the road and the result of this is on this thread and in the pictures.

I am glad that I was wrong on how this car would turn out as I think Tony has done a wonderful job and has actually increased the cars value with what he has done.

Good luck on the sale T.

For anyone thats not ever seen a car like this ,
I meant what I said earlier,
Tony didnt cut corners making this machine into what it is today,
If you have any inkling that you want a supreme whip like this,
dont hesitate, your money couldnt be better spent anywhere else.

Hello Sean
Thanks again Stan. Thought I would give my Rennlist 928 brethren first crack at this beautiful GTS but so far only a few tire kickers. Going to list soon with: Panorama, Hemming's, autotrader.com, cars.com, ebay, etc. if no takers. T
