Somewhere I saw $1700. I got one off ebay for $400 something. Thanks MA for posting the link.

Denny what's the "seal retainer wrench" and how do you use it, presumably on the cam seals?

The seal wrench is a box end wrench with the box cut off and welded back onto the wrench shaft. It has been mentioned by several on this forum and is quite useful for turning the rear cam seal retainer bolts, especially the one circled here. I don’t know about other cars, but those with rear AC have minimal access to that bolt.

What are options for this harness and what have others done?

And yes, all the cam seals will be replaced too.
Denny,
I'm getting ready to rebuild some of my harnesses and I found some stuff called Insultherm Tru-fit. It's high temp woven wire insulation and comes in many different sizes and lengths. Found it at wirecare.com (no affiliation). It's probably overkill, but it's so luxurious. And it's rated to 1,200 degrees iirc. I spent about $100 and I got enough (in different sizes) to do all four harnesses in engine bay.

Being woven, I’d assume it’s “closed” and requires wires to be fished through and can’t be “wrapped” around existing harness, correct?

I'd think it's going to work best not to cut it lengthwise, but would still do a good job if it were split and strategically taped with self vulcanizing tape and zip ties. I'll likely do a combination of both. Some of my connectors are good, others have to be replaced. I'm not sure if cutting off a good connector, for insulating purposes, is worth adding another connection/potential failure spot (solder or crimp).

something like this might work for the harness- velcro closure, no need to fish wires thru.
Looks like it comes in 12' rolls-

Default Can't stop!

Needed to be done and there's no better time than now!

Years ago my Supra had overheat issues. During a T-Belt change I removed 15 years worth of May Flies from the radiator. They filled a five gallon pail. Cooling issue solved!

It looks like one of those numbered thumb tacks that you put on old wood storm windows to keep track of which window frame it goes in.
