Owwww, good one. Blue hose. I cut the inner fender, and I admit it up front. once I had a hole in the liner in there, I could get to it better but still a bad job.

Airbag dash center console removal for HVAC diaphragm work.
Clutch hydraulics and adjusting a DD clutch.
Passing the LH/EZK harness through the firewall, alone
Anything to do with the rear A/C.
The lateral coolant reservoir screw.
Most of these things are mitigated by the proper tools but not completely....

Swapped the transmission in my 85 and 89 car. What a bitch!
Intake refresh, injector seals, knock sensors... etc... was no fun either.
Timing belt, WP, rebuilding the oil pump, tensioner and steering pump was 5 days of work too!!

What? I was told that the 928's reputation for difficult maintenance was undeserved. I began to suspect otherwise when I had to remove an axle nut, but now I see the truth. Fortunately, this weekend's task is something simple - reinstalling the lower cross member.

I watched Sean fight with that axle nut for an hour one day while I drank beer. Another pleasurable memory.

New one for me. I am restoring a 79 Euro and purchased a Porken tensioner. I was told I had to cut a small piece from somewhere around the air pump bracket to make it fit. Well...after getting in there I realized I had to cut a complete section from the AC bracket. Holy crap...the AC bracket in that car was built like a Sherman tank. Of course it had to come out to cut. This bracket is nothing like you have ever seen on a later model. It's almost the size of a center block when you get it off. What I thought was going to be a 20 minute job took 2 hours.
Second was getting the timing marks set on it when putting the timing belt back on with just one person. Get it lined up and bam....the gear moves 5 teeth from the spring pressure on the cams. Not as easy as my 86...which I learned to drive a couple of screws through the holes for the distributor cap back to the block and the gears won't move. No way to do that on the 79.

I predict this thread will go to 15 pages.
Motor mounts and I was just a gofer on it. Second goes to bleeding the clutch master. Third is R/R the windshield washer pump on an '85.

Getting the pilot shaft out of the crank when the pilot bearing seizes.
That wasn't fun.
Oil pan gasket. Those front bolts are...
Interesting.
But the worst job, the hardest one to do, the one I hate the most?
Parking it for the winter.
Changing the oil, putting the battery tender on, throwing the cover over it, knowing that I won't be firing it up again for 3 or 4 months.
That sucks.

The WP/TB was a pain, but I learned a lot and it was much easier with a no oil leak rebuilt engine. Didn't have to replace any seals or rebuild the tensioner, it was already done. The engine driven fan was already gone and no air pump.
The biggest pain had to be the passenger window regulator and repairing the broken guide on the regulator arm. Followed closely by the AC actuator under the drivers footwell. Even when you remove the front seat, you still have to be a contortionist to get to the part.
Come to think of it, threading the ECU cable back after the engine rebuilt was not fun, nor was pulling the torque tube. But we managed to get it out without dropping the gear box.
I'm sure the absolute biggest pain and almost as much time as pulling the engine would be replacing the AC evaporator. Thank goodness mine is ok with no leaks. I would be afraid of breaking a bunch of 30 year old plastic removing the dash for that job.
