Default Porsche tool 9230--suitable replacement

For those owners of '85/'86 model years who would like to adjust the MAF screw for CO, the correct tool is #9230 (P-72192300). Not having one in my tool chest I ordered one from Eagle Day for $43. Unfortunately processing/delivery time preclude it arriving prior to smog testing (I procrastinate when it comes to government imposed requirements like smog testing/registration/taxes, but I digress). A trip to Harbor Freight Tools turned up a suitable replacement: 34 piece Precision screwdriver Set, Lot # 93916. It is currently selling for $6.99. It works like a champ. I can't imagine the Porsche tool working any better. If I had gone to HF first, I would not have ordered the "correct" tool.
MrMerlin was able to use a 14" piece of cloth covered 3mm vacuum hose and a shortened 3mm hex key to adjust the screw. I did not have any vacuum/fuel or general purpose hose that worked, I tried. I guess it is that cloth covering that works magic, or something.
I called Roger at 928sRUS to see if he carried the Porsche tool, or the one Ken (Porken) makes--he does not. But he offerred to overnight me his own as a loaner--a true class act!
Save yourself a few bucks and put one in your tool chest "just in case". You can never have too many tools.

Thanks for the tip!

I'm ready to ditch my home made, hillbilly version made out of garage door cable.
We should start an independent thread dedicated to home made tools, i bet that would be pretty entertaining.
