body panel interchange
I have a '78 928 and had the misfortune of hitting a deer tonight when I was coming home with pizzas for the family (no good deed goes unpunished...)
It (the deer) did a number on the left front fender and snapped off the headlamp pod on the left front too.
I don't think I did the deer much good either although I could not find it as it bounded off into the forest.
Can someone tell me what years will be an exact fit for left front fenders and headlight assemblies so I can search out the needed parts?
Will it be '78 only?
I bet everyone wants to see pictures...
I will take one tomorrow, makes me sick to look at the damage, have only had the car a few weeks and I have really been enjoying it. Now this...
Thanks,
Craig

I believe '78 - '81 (non S) will interchange. You want a fender with no holes for spoiler. 928intl. can set you up with what you need. Sounds like you came through this 'experience' with no physical damage, that is good.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but glad to hear you seem to be alright. At least cars are comparatively easy to fix.
You may also want to check out the bumper support for possible damage. From this picture, it almost looks like the outer edge of the bumper may have picked up a tiny bit of extra curve.

also looks like the deer **** itself! I'd wash that brown spot off before doing anything else

He or she left some fur behind too.
I went back yesterday in the daylight looking for parts lost and the deer, found the headlight shell no sign of the deer. I am sure he/she is fine...
Would have been nice of it to stop and give me it's insurance info though.
