Norcal Wrench Day: San Jose RHV Airport
Im draggin my car down to the RHV airport, and with my new job I will not be doing any more travel. I can finally work on the car.
I'll be at Reid Hillview Airport, and we can work on the car on the ramp by the maint hangar, and because it's Sunday even use space in the hangar.
Work will be prep the car for an engine pull, not the pull that day..that might be too ambitious.
I also have to figure out how to replace the Window Lift Roller on the left door as well.
Any interest? Food will be provided.
Noon Sunday March 1st, location and phone # if lost here:

Guy at front desk will point you to the right place.

I should be there...
I've done the window lift roller before. The wheel and stock rivet are available but i could not figure out how to peen the rivet, so I came up with an alternative using a hardware store bolt, sleeve and nut. This picture shows the rivet on the left, the bolt and sleeve I used (bolt head had to be ground down for clearance), and another alternative I did not use. I was able to do the replacement without removing the lift mechanism. The fix has held for 5 years.

Cool!
I'll work to gather as many tools as I can gather up, and some motorcycle straps, car stands...etc.
I tow the car down Saturday, but Sunday will be work day. Looks to be great weather!

Since the assy is fully out of the door to do this, nothing horribly special should be required to do it..as long as there's a tool to do it.

Awesome Charlie, be great to see you again.
I know -2- guys could have this out in the afternoon, 3 for sure, 4..and there's one guy to hand out beers too!
I'll be there at 10, spraying things down with degreaser to make things easier. Very oily underneath.
