Default Shameless plug for JC Taylor Classic Auto Insurance

After quite a bit of research, I decided to apply for auto insurance through JC Taylor,
and I couldn't be happier with the transaction.
They required photos of my 928, and they agreed to my determined replacement value without hesitation.
There is no mileage limitation, but they do ask that the car be used for
traveling to shows, car club get-togethers, cruise nights, etc, and not as
a daily driver.
They also made sure no drivers under age 25 would be
operating the car.
It was around $160/ yr.
Happy.

Thanks for the heads-up recommendation for JC Taylor.

Nice. Looking into determined value insurance myself right now. Worried a wreck for my car that I've spent (way too much) rehabbing back to "very good condition" would net me a check for $3k or less. Thanks for the recommendation!

Who else can you recommend out there?

I did look at Haggerty, as well as State Farm, personally.
I liked the "no mileage" stipulation with JC Taylor, as most of the events that we hope to attend
someday would put us well over the usual restriction of "under 2000/yr" ....

I've had Collector Cars from Infinity. They payed out $1400 for a new windshield on my last car.

In NY for 17K it was $460/year no deductible; unlimited miles and occasional work driving.

In NC for 22K it's $201/year $50 deductible on comp/collision/glass (NC rules for them) unlimited miles and occasional work driving.

I was State Farm, but they changed from allowing 6K miles to only 2K. I've had talks with Leland West, but I need to clean out my garage so I can get it in there and take a picture

Wow ! I thought I was getting a good deal from State Farm, but it's apparent that I'm not.

I've been with Hagerty for years, and I've never had any type of mileage restriction. With Classic Plates, Nevada puts a 5000 mile restriction on the car, but it's on the honor system. I just fill out a form stating the mileage, and that's it.

If I go to 3rd Coast and back it'll use up a little over half the state limit.

I've got an agreed value policy on my cars through the National Corvette Museum Insurance Agency, underwritten by AMIG.

Adam and Bobbie Jo are awesome and responsive. And their rates proved to be more than competitive. And when I could save some money, they notified me, proactively. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat.

For the feature and benefits, check them out here:

Another cool side benefit, the policies through this Non-Profit benefit the National Corvette Museum.

I hope this helps, just as they helped w/ my policy

I'm with Leland West. $26K agreed value, 5K mile/yr limit, about $355/yr IIRC.

Last time I checked with State Farm, which has been a few years ago, they wouldn't write an "agreed value" policy. That ended my consideration of them.

I'd love to hear from some people who have had actual claims. They're almost all pretty responsive when it comes to making it easy to sell you a product and take your money, but how are they when you need them? I know Sterling had a very unpleasant experience with his special policy...

I used Progressive, but for the prices you're all listing, I'd be able to only get liability, which is what is on it right now...
Know of any places that will give a 22/23 year old classic car insurance with no limit on miles and where you can use it? :P

My policy is due in two weeks. I've been with Hagerty for about 20 years with various vehicles and this year they seem to be getting a bit high. I'm now at $681 (including roadside assistance) for the Weissach and two motorcycles.

Liability coverage seems to be the biggest cost factor for me. My daily drivers are at $500K per accident plus a $1 million umbrella which also extends to the Hagerty covered vehicles...so Hagerty has me covered @ $500K per accident. Of course the liability also trickles down to the under-insured and uninsured portions too.

What do you guys have for liability coverage...especially when you're paying under $200 a year for an entire policy? Do you also have uninsured and under-insured coverage?

I can tell you this, Adam @ http://www.ncminsurance.com has beat Hagerty and others in quotes, often bettering the coverage. I've known Adam from the hobby, long before he was my agent.

I hope this helps, and it's probably worth a call.
