Clearly your wife doesn't read your forum posts.
The car was imported through Lindsay Saker and supplied via Peco in Pretoria to a farmer in Bothaville in the Free State. I bought the car from Peco, where it was on their used cars floor for a while.
I saw an identical car to mine advertised in the Autotrader about 10 or 12 years ago - might have been that car.
Incidentally, at the time I was looking to buy the 928, there was a '78 930 Turbo on the floor for the same money - should have bought that looking at the prices these days.
Nah, the 928 is my sort of car.

I assume Al Klesse (?spelling) is not with Peco anymore. He looked after our cars.
Around 86 - 90 there was also a pearl white 930 around that spend a long time looking for a home.
There were a few 911s that I wish we bought and still had. One was a tangerine '72 that I didn't buy because Peco said I had to pay gst, and I thought 2nd hand cars didn't have gst on them. We were arguing about what would be around $70 today.
Lindsay Saker, later LSM was the official imported in SA. I miss the days when the arrival of a new Porsche (not model but individual car) was special enough that you drove to Jhb specially to go and have a look.
What year is your car?

I've never revved the car when cold and always waited for the oil to warm up properly, but also I had a daily commute of about 5 miles on the freeway for 10 years. I'm sure that this might have something to do with it - it had relatively little stop/ start traffic during it's time.

Congrats!
Once you get to 490,000 km, I will tip my hat, as you will be at the same distance of my S4
Original unopened engine as well.
Best Regards !
