Who was the original owner of your car?

My first 928 owner, a 79 Euro 5 speed I got in Germany was from an Army officer being thrown out on drug charges. He sold the car pretty cheap as he needed defense lawyer money.
The present car, a 82 5 speed was first owned by a wealthy gentleman in Chicago who used it as a DD for 80K miles before passing away. The car was covered in a heated garage for many years until the estate finally sold the car. I am the third owner and won't even waste the bandwidth to describe the second owner.
Speaking of discovering history under the seats, as I gutted the interior for seat refurb last year I found a 1982 quarter under the rear left seat.
Since my fader **** was worthless anyway, I shined up the coin and mounted it where the fader **** was located.

My '87 S4 was bought new in the fall of '86 by John B. Visceglia of Edison, NJ. He is VP of SAI, a real estate developer based there. It was special-ordered in a color that has yet to be determined...I got a brief reply from Mr. Visceglia via Facebook confirming he purchased it new, but he has yet to elaborate on his choice of paint color. It has had multiple owners between myself and Mr. Visceglia, one of whom (Steven Randolph) tracked it at some point (lowered and roll bar installed).

Just a thought -- many folks treasure their privacy. Rather than sharing intimate details like actual names. think about sticking with descriptions unless you have a PO's permission to share full information. My cars get passed on with full information, but I certainly don't compromise the relationships I have with all the PO's. There's a Golden Rule hidden in here someplace...

What do you have on your car, before it went to Mark and was passed on to you?

I really don't want to break anybody's bubble, but the infamous Osama Bin Laden was part of a large family, very wealthy, who own a number of companies. In 1968, 11 years after Osama was born, Saudi King Faisal announced the company would be taken over by royal decree and run by a board that included the Bin Laden family and the royal House of Saud. Although they focused more on construction, they also got the Audi and Porsche concession for Saudi Arabia. Osama got an estimated $30 million when the royal family took control of the company, but I don't think he ever worked for the company.
If it is any consolation, I don't thin Sal Sinatra, the original owner of my 928, was related to Frank.

My car was originally purchased in Atlanta by a woman who kept the car for about 11 years. She bought the car on 12-27-90. It was then purchased by a gentleman from Kennesaw, GA on 3-15-01.
I hope I'm able to keep the car for as long as the previous two owners did. This is an awesome car and I'm just starting projects to keep it in excellent running condition.

@oldfrat
How do you think you can break my bubble. It dosen't even exist one. What should my advantages be if he sat in or not one time. I just boght that car because it had an incredibly low milage and not even a scratch on it. It's origin is just funny for me like my nickname in this forum.
And to come to the facts, Jidda was a small fishing village at that time. Fact is that Osama lifed there at that time. If my family would own a car company, I'll be interested in what's going on in our showroom.

Alexander
P.s@oldfrat Bubbles are your matter as a American.

Alexander, please understand I had no intention to offend. I sincerely apologize if I even came close to doing that. I was merely trying to inform.
I bought my 928 for the same reasons. Low mileage and no flaws. I would have loved it if the Sinatra first owner was the famous Frank. Heck, even Nancy! Alas, it was the unknown Sal. But I cherish the car anyway, as I'm sure you do yours. The fact that your car made it in great condition back from Saudi Arabia to Germany is a great story all by itself, no matter who owned or sat in it along the way. And, if you are like I have been since buying mine in September, all that matters to us is who owns it and gets to enjoy it now!

It would be interesting to look at the full history on Ed's Holbert speed-record car. It went through a few reinCARnations after its first year. At the time, there were some pretty strict rules on remarketing cars that had been used in advertising campaigns, for instance. We know also that it appeared as a safety car for IMSA for a couple years after the record run.

But, your right..... it was the WR car, delivered in white or primer.
painted red for the speed run and then painted white for the emergency vehicle work for the next few years.... and until I got it back in 2002.
pretty cool doing the repaint to red and sanding down parts of the car and seeing the layers of different color paint. like an archeological dig.
