Got to thinks positive.
I usually drive to about Thanksgiving. I've had my "summer car" out until mid-December a couple of times.

But I live a bit south of Hacker & I woke up to snow falling this morning. It's stopped for now, but will start up again this evening & we are expecting a couple inches over the next day or so. I'm just south of the "Storm Warning" line.

Time to call it a season & get them parked. Fortunately, my storage is a couple blocks away so visiting them isn't a problem. The 928 gets a heated garage, so working on it is not too bad. The 944 doesn't, but I'm not planning any big jobs on it this winter.

While I'll miss the shark, I still get to drive the 986, and that one does not get put up for the winter. Bad days I'll use the Jeep, but any half decent day I'll use the Box. Love these p-cars!

Bob, I hope the surgery makes you feel better.

Drove your 89 to the 928sRus 3rd Coast event last weekend. The car ran flawlessly and drew a lot of attention. Thankfully not from the local authorities

Thank you again for taking such good care of it over the years.

All, thanks for the good thoughts. can't get out of the surgery, go in Dec 10, so have to do it.

Jim, glad the car is in good hands, and you are enjoying it. When I saw Sean at Frenzy, I asked how it was doing and told him how much i missed that car....

Had surgery and after three hours in the OR, came out feeling great. Large herniated disc against spinal cord in T12 area. I was told it is rare to get herniated disc in that area.. We found the right guy, as I was up and walking pain free within an hour after recovery. I've got a 7-8 inch incision in my back and no pain.

928 content!

When I had my first office visit to discuss the surgery, he asked what I was hoping to get out of the surgery, as it is a rare type of surgery with risks. I told him I needed to be able to drive my GT. He asked what I had and told him, when he then logged onto the net in his office and googled "red 1991 928 GT" and up popped my car. "Wow" he said, nice car.

After out of recovery, I was moving my left leg up and down while talking to the surgeon and he asked what I was doing...I told him just checking to make sure my "clutch" leg was still working!

He said I should be good to go this spring!

Again thanks for the well wishes, Merry Cristmas and Happy New year to all.

Bob

This winter has been so mild after the first (and so far only) blizzard, I was tempted to take the 87 out the other day since she was delivered with some OK all seasons on the man-hole wheels.

Then I got home and saw how white my freshly washed Yukon was from all the salt getting kicked up.

I really wish they could figure out some less metal corrosive way to melt the stuff.

Stellar news Bob! You can walk and drive OK, and you have a battle-scar to share 'war' stories about. Gotta love the advances in surgical technology and methods. It wasn't that lon ago when spinal surgery had only low 90% success, failure modes not at all pretty, and you'd be laid up for weeks "healing". Now it's not quite a drive-thru process but close, up and walking within hours. Don't want to spend any more time in a hospital than absolutely necessary -- there are lots of sick people there.

Sounds like your Merry Christmas is off to an excellent start!

Snow on the ground here since Thanksgiving. I put the bike and 3 cars in the barn the week before and got hugely lucky with that timing. batteries charged, disconnected and covers on for the winter.

I miss em already....... Plow truck has already earned its keep this season.
