I don't think Tom is inferring anything about the specifics of why it's a non-runner, or how much it'll take to make it a runner. Could be as simple as jumper cables, a gallon of gas and the ignition key.
I do think the owner is doing himself a disservice by not making it a runner, tho.

Our being into these vehicles give us a different perspective from one that has for all appearances moved on. Kind of reminds me of the old rock and roll lyric: " it doesn't mean that much to me to mean that much to you."
Apparently he just doesn't care enough to get it running even if it is financially stupid.

Damn! If only I hadn't bought that $200 '85 down in Alabama. I remember this car from the '06 SITM. I was in my blue '89 a couple of rows back from this car. I kept thinking that this car was mine and I was wanting to go get in this car and lie down. (I think I was a bit hungover )

I agree. If you don't have the time to prep it yourself, paying someone to do it will be net negative value. For this car at least. Due to the high mileage. If it was a non-running '95 GTS no sunroof 5-speed it would be a different story.

Is there a pool? I'm betting it won't bring 14. For the following: interior combo is fugly, I know it is rootwood, but the combo doesn't work for me, mileage is high, non runner, not to mention a "differential error"---- hello? is scary to anyone not versed in these cars. Needs tires and paint.

I, personally, don't think it's worth more than $12k in its current state (if it's as described). My rationale for that is that best case it will need $3k in deferred service - probably more. So by the time you pay title, tax, transport and service, whoever buys it will be $16k into it minimum.
I don't think the market for a high milage GT is there to justify going after this one.
That said, I did try the backroom deal route. Dan said he was going to let the auction run its course.

LOL! That was great video. The price is already over my bid so looks like I'm out. Rog and I were discussing this car last night and maybe I'll go up a bit. Prolly not. I got two non-runners right now, and I'd be sleeping with the fish if I bought another.
OBTW, I make that uniform look gooooooood!
