Default GT on eBay ...

Have you folks discussed this yet? Even with the clouded title, seems like a decent deal if it checks out. No affiliation etc., ...

It's a GT and yea, we've talked about this poor car extensively. It's been in at least two wrecks that should have totaled the car out. Gear box was welded back together, front right looks like smashed spaghetti from underneath. While it may run well, I'd run away from it really fast.

Looks like this is the 3rd guy to own it since it was sold locally last year.

I thought it might be infamous ...
As rare as they are .. at some price is it saveable or just good for parts?

A "no excuses example"? ... what a creative writer, I really like this part too ... "There was some repair history back in the late 90s. I do not have any repair information from that time but I can say that any repairs done to the car were done correctly ..."

Wow, everything must be just fine, huh?

It was not done right at all - one look at the gearbox will tell you everything you need to know and start running.
Well at least it has the electronic PSD - not!!

I'm surprised the VIN doesn't pop up in any other threads..... Here it is for any future searches:

one of the things that I look for is the hump thru the car. This one looks very twisted - see how the consol lines up with the arm rest and the rear a/c (ie, they don't at all). This car looks like it was bent. I would not want it.

I'm sure you guys are correct about the wrecks and repairs, but wow what a clean car. I'd say if it runs and drives right, has a clear title, it's worth at least 15k, which would be maybe 5-7k less than what it would be worth with no bad history. Most bidders don't have the benefit of the information here, so I'm sure it will sell in 6 days.... 1 day before I'll be passing through Austin on the way to MF and could take a look :-) Probably a good thing...

Regardless, the interior and engine bay looks really really NICE and CLEAN!!!!

One could buy it then move everything over to a new frame.

Is this the car that belonged to Art?? Came to a few local get together's? Used to track the car sometimes? Am I thinking of the right car?

Art Yance owned the car and did look after it well. No expense spared. However it did have a salvage title when Art sold it. Most of us 928 locals here in DFW have known the car for at least 10 years.
As the "timing chain" has been changed it should be good for another 5 years.
