Electric mirror problem
I've been trying to fix a few things (seat and mirrors)and as usual found many helpful tips from the forum. I replaced a broken seat adjuster switch and the seat did work for a minute.I could get it to move when it stopped by sitting in it ,So after some digging through search I discovered the issue in the black box and re- soldered all the little points that were talked about in several posts. Well ,so far the seats seam to work( I'll hold judgement until I try it more). I also replaced the mirror toggle and the memory switch because I couldn't get the mirrors to adjust. Well, as soon I put the seat back in everything worked. The mirror would adjust and then quit . If I use the memory adjustment ,the mirror works for a few minutes and then quits . Any thoughts? I've used deoxit to clean the switches and as mentioned replaced some switches. Thanks, Doug.

its most likely a bad solder joint in the relay board under the seat

I did the ones closest to the front of the seat. Are you supposed to do every one of the solder points? It's odd because the mirror will work for a few minutes and then just stop working . I then use the three button preset seat position switch which also sets the mirror position and the toggle will work for another little bit....quits and I repeat the process .

Are you saying that manual operation is now good on the seats? how about manual operation of the mirrors also good? Memory operation of the seats? does that work?
Seems you are saying memory operation of the mirrors quits after a timeout (a timeout after what? what gets them working again?). Is this now the only issue?
The memory operation of the mirrors hardly relies on the seat controller - it gets power from there which is why that is important to be installed - but that is all. The memory pad connects to the seat controller for seat memory but it also connects to the mirror controller for mirror memory. If your only issue is with mirror memory then all you need to test from the seat controller is that you have reliable power to the mirror memory controller. The mirror memory controller is located in the footwell above the hood release. - 3 plugs - one to seat controller and one to each mirror.
Leave the seat controller alone and test for power at the mirror controller connector. If that seems good I'd try refurbing the mirror controller instead.

Alan, seats seem to work now.ill know more when I use them more. The mirror works on manual for a short use . Works great on memory every time. But to get the manual switch to work again I have to use the memory switch and it works again .

All manual controls for the mirror also go though the mirror controller - I'd start there - if memory always works - then the mirror controller always has power.

Ok, I've discovered that to get the manual switch to work I have to use the memory switch to adjust seat position and mirrors. Only then the manual will the manual switch work. But the weird part is that after 60 seconds ( I timed it three times) the manual switch quits working. The only way I can get the manual switch to work again is to cycle the memory switch. Then the manual seat switch will work again but for only 60 seconds. That doesn't seem like it should work that way. The toggle manual switch is new to the car as well as the memory switch.
