Default FS 92 GTS $10K with TBF failure

The overall car is in good condition, it's been run on very thin oil in a very hot country.
The owner just wants to get rid of it.

The car came to our local 928 specialist too late. She'll need a new engine.

Located in Dubai, will assist with exporting the car in a container if you'd like. Which will cost around $3-4K to the U.S.

I'll get some pictures!

With the comments on thin oil, my money is on thrust bearing failure.

importing cars into the USA (other than cdn cars) can be a real bugger. Ask James Morrison.....

Needs to be 2017-then it won't be an issue.

First I've heard a correlation between using low vis oil and thrust bearing failure.

Look at it the other way. What's the correlation of a timing belt failure due to low viscosity oil?

I think the thin oil comment by the OP is a red herring.

Yeh, I don't know if it is related to the TBF.

But running 10W30 or 40 in 120F weather sure can't be good.

I'll have more information for you guys tomorrow!

Thrust bearing failure.

Our 928 specialist here, Terry, is a good friend of the Buchanans. So that's most probably where the comments about "thin oil" came from.

The GCC cars appear to have a very similar spec to the US cars.

I believe the only difference is in the emissions. The GCC cars don't have a catalytic converter. They do have an air pump though. So the addition of a catalytic converter, an O2 sensor with a coding plug and you should be good to go.

They even have the impact bumpers.
