I have a set of GTS 1R rods in my storage garage, might be able to go grab one tomorrow.

Plus or minus 2 grams, one 1R GTS rod is 710 grams. I can get a more accurate weight if you need more than a ballpark. And a picture, don't have a pic of an isolated 1R GTS rod....

1R and 2R are same weight. If they weren't 2R couldn't be used without additional modifications.

1R rods were used in '92 to the first 1200 or so of the early 94 GTS motors (up to engine # 85R00553 (5-speed), and engine # 81R50597 (automatic)) failed in some instances. R2 rods had thicker webbing at the junction of the big end and neck of the rod. Porsche had a TSB suggesting that if ever you removed even 1 rod nut on a GTS motor with R1 rods, that you replace all 8 rods with the R2 version, as well as 16 new rod nuts....

More info about rod weight. The GTS rods (710 grams) seems to be much lighter than the S4 rods.
The rod marked 944.103.110.0R is 846.5 grams (1987 S4).
The rod marked 944.103.112.1R is 847 grams (1989 S4).
The rods for the 968 engine are divided into several weight groups from 615 to 696 gram with a difference of 9 grams within each group.
The 928 0R rod looks much stronger than the 1R rod which has a smaller neck below the small end. For power modifications the OEM rods can be machined for a fairly large weight reduction.

OCD update - 'Scuse the lousy cell phone pics.

928 GTS R1 rods, with nuts, without bearing shells- ~1 g variance from rod to rod.
