Looks like a heck of a car!

NY Smog testing ceases to apply to cars that are more than 25 years old, but the Cat goes by YoM (and they do check), so the car wouldn't be able to pass inspection in NY as it's currently equipped.

Where I live, far upstate, there is no specific smog testing, and the lack of OBD2 to connect a car to the state's computer allows considerable ... discretion on the part of garage operators. A custom exhaust that rather obviously omits catalytic convertors might be pushing it, though.
