Hello Community,

I'm new to the 928 game. I bought an 88 s4 a month ago as a hobby car and have loved tinkering (repairing) little things like tb/wp and some defective switches....

So I was under the car and looked at the ac compressor and it was covered in oil, which appears to be coming from the transmission cooling pipe that exists the radiator and heads to the front of the car into the AT oil cooler. Has anyone repaired these lines? do you simply replace them?

the common fix is to use a dremel to cut the sheathing on the line then remove the old hose ,
get some new hydraulic hose from hose shop or parts store along with good hose clamps.

NOTE the repair procedure for the lines further back above the cats and where they connect at the trans is to remove the lines and have them recrimped with fresh line at the hose shop fitting screw type clamps near the cats always seems to result in leaks and then having to RnR the exhaust twice

I sell the Greg Brown transmission hose kit - the right hose and special clamps to do the job properly - even comes with the special pliers. Enough to do all hoses on each car.

Thank you gentlemen. Roger, the 3-pronged plug came in for me this morning. I think I'm going to hook it up tonight. And I got the water pump and timing belt you sent me installed! I'll email you for a quote on the GB lines.
