BIG thank you Bill Ball
I contacted Bill last month and asked if he would help me with a TB/WP job on Rocket after Sharktoberfest. It had been almost 10 years / 40K miles since Tony and I were in there and I had wanted to get it done for peace of mind.
I had the pleasure of spending time with Bill over the weekend. We got back from Sharktoberfest Sunday late morning. We started removing components as they cooled @12:00 and made great time…I think we had everything removed from the front including SC stuff and the TB removed by 2:00. The TB looked good; the WP was questionable with the wheel spinning freely and the impeller had started to migrate. The Oil gear was original and shiny. The CAM gears were in good shape but the gears were shiny.
Replaced TB/WP, Oil Gear, CAM Gears and installed the PorkTensioner…also decided to install a smaller SC pulley with a cherry on top.
All in all, Bill was awesome and very patient with my cleaning regiment. I’m too damn picky at times! Everything came apart and went back together very smooth with minor stumbles.
He also took time to look at other questions I had on Torch.
Bill has always been an asset to the 928 community and I’m very fortunate to have him as a friend!
Thanks Bill!

Bill was just over at my place today guiding me on my first TPWP replacement. He had previously helped me replace the shocks on my new to me '87 S4. Bill is a teriffic asset to the 928 community. I think the best we can do is to pay it forward by helping others to keep the remaining 928s on the road.

Bill is the Best! He has helped me do things that I would never have taken on by myself.
Just kicking myself for not video taping and taking notes on all the critical steps!
