From here, we run straight down the interstate towards Fargo. Set the cruise control at about 80mph. Play with the radio a bit - does this Blau Reno have a fader? We can't seem to get much sound out of the rear speakers. Anyway, an easy comfortable ride straight south. Here we are checking in to the hotel for the night.

I want to try to splash her at a manual car wash tomorrow. Hope to see one around here. We plan to hit the road around 8 am. The few hours that we did today will go a long way to making home at a decent time on Sunday. So far, no other problems to report. Life is good and loving this thing! Touch wood.

look for your fader button on the floor next to the e-brake handle. It's a **** that turns. (not sure if S4's have thisb but 86 and earlier models do).
Sounds like a great trip so far. I drove 2 of mine across country (an 86 and a 78). Best driving cars there are for these long trips!

I'd like to know what you're doing about the cupholder situation. Or is that your son's primary duty? Do you have a rule about food in the car? What do you and your son agree upon for music? Re: dash lights - did the airline seize your Deoxit? Do you know where the jack is stored? Gosh, this is fascinating. Epic.

I am jealous that your cruise control works.

If it all goes this smoothly you're going to have to just make something up. The story needs some drama!

Tanking up in Fargo this morning. Some drama this morning. Someone took it upon themselves to put a nice scratch on the front hood of the car. It is about 3/4 inch long and down to the metal. Looks like they set something on the sloping part of the hood hood, or sat on the hood and had something sharp sticking out touching the metal. I don't think it was keyed on purpose because usually if someone keys a car, they do a lot worse. And we had a great parking spot near the entrance but a wide spot and another car only on one side.

Some people - that's all I'm going to say. I will post a pic another day in another thread. I don't want to let this ruin my day.

Typically the cruise control is set 5-7 mph above posted speed limit. That meant we made good time through the Dakotas where the posted speed limit is 75 MPH on the interstate. At that speed (about 80 mph), we are averaging about 21 mpg.

Truck stop to fill up and empty out the holding tanks, if you know what I mean.

Missouri Fall Colors at a rest stop. Bathroom break. Leg stretch and some mild exercise before grabbing some fruit snacks from a vending machine and back on the road. We have a small cooler with water bottles in the car. Keeps us going strong.

Parked hanging over the curb. Brave. I park like a foot short anymore (short of the tip of the bumper - way out there) because that scraaaaape sound is so painful.
