Unexpected DE this weekend... Summit Point
Local pit crew welcome...
Kinda nervous because a) I've never driven Summit before, and b) it's a new-to-me group (PCA Potomac). Anyone with Summit experience, please share.
Psyched to try out a new track!

what circuit are you running - Shenandoah or the original? I assume it's not Jefferson. It used to be my home track for FATTs, DEs and SCCA MARRS series - the original track. what kind of info are you looking for?

Check out the last couple pages of the Frenzy 18 thread above and watch the videos of our parade laps. I believe it's the Summit Point Circuit. Summit Point is awesome!

Yes, it's the main circuit. Just looking for tips on turns that the 928 is good/bad in. I heard there's a part of the track where the 928 is prone to bottoming out.

Down shift into turn 5 (?) as it seems the only really tight left turn, then rip out into turn 6 and 7. I don't recall any bottoming out. It's a blast!

Have fun!
I'm surprised about the reports of bottoming out. While a 928 is no "stage coach" I would assume there are lots of newer cars that are much lower, especially at the track.

if you are running the main circuit, i don't believe you'll have any issues with bottoming out in a 928. i've run an e30 325is, e30 M3, e28 M5, e36 M3, SPR training POSs (caprices), and various student cars there and never had a bottoming out issue. SPR does have some issues, but transitions that will bottom out the car are not one of them. respect the track and stay out of the TREES!! have fun.

The bottoming out happens on the Shenandoah circuit. If you are on the Main track (no other reason to go to Summit) then you will have a blast, as long as you stay on pavement or concrete and dont hop any burms or gator teeth.
DAMN, wish I could go to this, I'll be in Newport Beach, let me know of any more this year you are doing!!! Glad to help, SP is like my second home, err, actually 6th.
