Default Good protectant/dressing for black S3 spoilers

Hey, I was washing the car and wondered what you folks with the black plastic spoilers use to put on there to keep it nice and black, protect it from UV, etc. It was getting that white-grey faded look. I had some Zaino Plastic Magic, but it specifically says "Not for porous materials" and this stuff looks pretty porous. In the end I just put Armor-All on it, but most times I find there are better solutions. Thoughts?

I've had good luck with the Black Magic brand.

http://www.blackmagicshine.com/tire-wet.php

It says for tires, but I use it on the hard rubber of the wing, and I've used it on the cracked dash on the 968. So far so good.

Perhaps plastidipping will give the desired result?

Hadn't thought of plasti-dipping something like that. Might be a more permanent solution...for now I think i will run by the Pep Boys and see if they have the Mothers product mentioned above. "back to black" just sounds like the right product lol...

Aerospace 303 is a great UV protectant and it doesn't shine.

I've always had great success with Mother's Back to Black. But now I use Adam's VRT. It works great also.

Back to Black isn't nearly as good as Turtle Wax Brand :

Will look new from 10 feet for a few months.

I found this out owning Landrovers (fender guards)

One more for you since I don't think those wipe on products will last long in the 300+ days a year of Hot South Florida Sun...

Go to NAPA (or where ever) and buy 3 Cans of SEM "Honda Black" Flexible Bumper Paint.

Remove or carefully mask off the rear spoiler and spray about 20+ thin coats of the SEM paint over a few days time. Lightly sanding only if you get some orange peel on the first few coats.

Did my Euro S about 10 years ago (and it was very porous) and last I saw it at SITM this June it still looked perfect.

2004(or earlier)..

2014...

Cheers,

Dave
