New 87 S4 Owner - Introduction and Refurbish

I'm thinking that hose is supposed to be routed through that gap in the WP too. I'm going to route it that way anyways simply because it will be more secure and look better. I'm excited to see how clean she's going to be when done. I'll shoot you the pics of that valley channel tomorrow after I'm done cleaning it up. It was like a tar pit in there. It's already getting all nice and shiny!

Randy, its a concept 928 illustration that I believe is based off the current Panamera, IMOO it looks very much like what a 928 might look like in 2014 had it been a continuous model. I know I would drive her!

Off to the powder coaters, PO tried to pretty up the manifold with some black paint...it comes off on your hand. Manifold and cam covers will be anthracite and oil filler and strut brace black.

Well it has been awhile. Business travel has kept me out of town the last two weeks. Picked up the parts from the powder coater today and they look great! Hopefully things will be back together in the next 10 day which will give me a few days to wring things out before heading west to 3rd coast.
Grand total was $150 for all pieces, not bad at all!!
Color is anthracite, pretty much matches the car!
The did a great job of stripping the parts, had done several porsche pieces.
Still deciding on/if i will put some color on the lettering

Update to top end refresh
Well decided to add some color. Since the powder coating matches exterior so well decided to do the lettering in interior color. I think it turned out pretty well!! Used the Dupli-Color touch up and it works well. New pens have brush as well as built in abrasive end that worked perfectly to scuff the powder coating.

Looks really great, half the fun is the anticipation of the finished product. nice to see you are taking the time and effort AND $$$ to do things right. The end absolutely justifies the wait.
Keep the pics coming!

Burning Brakes
Lookin good! $150 is one H$ll of a deal. My local blast shop (which I no longer use because they've destroyed one too many intakes) won't even blast out a set for $150. Let alone the cost to mask, plug, off-gas and coat a set. That's ludicrous money for a refinish.

Things are coming together, Bill was able to get cam covers and test fit manifold on the car today, along with new fuel lines, hoses, gaskets, o-rings, vacuum lines, knock sensors, TPS, CPS and everything else associated with WYAIT . Hopefully another 5-7 days and she will be road trip ready. I will have a weekend for a quick shake down and then off to Austin for 3rd coast!
