O.k. # IV relay says not used . Had power ,guy said he jumped it ,it smoked and now car don't start? ECU not getting power. I can't find anything on number 2 relay , no blown fuses. Anyone know what powers it up. No injector power , fuel pump or ECU. I swapped my 84 relays still nothing. So no power at IV relay slot that is not used

Do you have a relay and fuse chart for your year model car?

Do you have wiring diagrams?

IIRC, if you have a relay where is a relay is not supposed to be, the car will not start. Also, if you have the incorrect relay in place of the correct relay, you may very well let the smoke out of the wires.

I have chart.relays in right place . Owner of car shorted wiring to get power windows to work . But was one relay off. He said it had power at pin with ignition on now it doesn't. I don't see any blown fuse . Checked with DVM. Wiring diagram says not used

According to the wiring diagrams that IV relay slot that isn't used only has two terminals in it, one direct from the battery and the other direct to ground. If those two were shorted then my guess is the smoke came from the +12VDC supply wiring on the back side of the CE panel. Pull the CE panel out and repair what got cooked. If the damage is too bad it might be easier to replace the CE panel with a good used one.

It has 4 wires going to it. 1 battery power , 1 ignition , ground and other not sure . I was talking to him over phone . I finally looked at it. I don't see any burnt wires . Pulled CE panel and don't see anything wrong . I don't have power to ECU , thinking bad terminal somewhere in that mess of wire behind CE panel. Will look into it deeper tonite .
