Default Side mirror adhesive

just after a moment after little kid and mom commented "how cool that car is!"while waiting to pick my wife up in the church circle drive, my wife stepped in the car, shut the passenger door and the passenger door mirror glass fell to the concrete and shattered (coincident with the moment).

So, 928Intl sent out an original glass and the question is: What's the best adhesive?

Go to your auto glass store and obtain 3 or 4 circular double adhesive patches. Put two of them on and cut one of the others into pieces to fill in most of the major gaps left. Then stick the new mirror on. Be sure to clean all the remaining old adhesive off the backing plate first. Be sure that the new mirror you got is the same as the original because some are convex and some are flat, and the place where it resides will be different for either.

This recently happened to me! Yes a local window/glass shop will have the adhesive discs. Took their guy about 1 minute to apply. They didn't even charge me! So I gave the kid $5 tip and drove away grinning!

Those patches will create a gap that probably will make the mirror heater ineffective. I used simple Elme's white glue and it has been on the car for a decade.

I would use some semi weak epoxy so the mirror isn't stuck for all eternity and can be removed if you need to.
