yes it is,
NOTE after disabling the ICV circuit at the test port connector ,
you would adjust this for idle speed.

Yes. Takes a 7mm socket.

Don't close it all the way, leave at least one turn open (or the idle control may not work properly).
If the idle speed is still too high, you have a vacuum leak(s).

FYI, C is ground, B is the WOT switch, A is the O2 sensor state, rich/lean.

for those wondering where the test port is ,

it is to the left of center and just in front of the chassis cross bar, attached to the top of the engine.
It has a flap that folds down to expose the sockets

Default Nut

If the adjusting nut has never been molested, it will have a plastic plug inserted over or covering it, so it will not stand out. So the MAF may not look exactly as pictured above. Unobtrusive little bugger. The plug never gets put back in place. It is not a problem if it is missing.

Ahh your not looking at a MAF picture, and there should not be a plug on this screw.

this brass adjuster nut is in a similar location as the earlier 84 Euro idle adjuster screw.
( its at the front side of the throttle body)

To get to this adjuster it is behind the cross bar and about directly centered behind the oil fill spout base

Thanks everyone. I built a blinkr and a tool to adjust the resistor in the MAF for CO. Interestingly, my MAF is oriented so the resistor adjuster is pointing to the driver's side of the car. I don't think a PO was in there but I was surprised to find out yesterday I have a rebuilt LH. (Which now does not have an intact warranty seal).

Building your own Blink'r is the first step to becoming a S3 Jedi.

Make sure the airflow arrow cast on the MAF lid is pointing towards the engine...not the airbox. I have seen a couple that were installed backwards! (It runs OK that way, but not quite right.)

There is a nub cast on the TB/MAF housing to orientate the MAF properly.

Otto,

Your 86.5 looks beautiful.

I didn't see an album, could you possibly post some pictures of this car here. Inside & outside pics please.

You are too kind:

Here's my wedding picture (BTW ROBIN, not me, insisted that the car be in this picture and be present at our backyard nuptials):

Stan: well as usual I am confused. I am referring to the CO adj pictured in post 10. Otto's initial post did say idle adj. so I stand corrected.

And now there is a path to Jedi. Learn something everyday here.

Otto,

Wow.. as nice as i suspected. Your 928 is poster worthy.

I really like the color combination. Very exotic and tasteful.

Is the paint original?

Thanks,

Matt

Ottos interior is also very nice as it has a pearl effect to the leather,
This must be seen in daylight fully appreciate it.
